The artist
A painter who learned to film.
Ankita notices things the rest of us walk past. The way morning light lands on a ridgeline. The moment mist decides to lift. A colour on an old door that most people would call brown, and she would call five different things.
She trained as a painter at M.S. University of Baroda and as a filmmaker at NID Ahmedabad, but the truth is the eye came first. The schools just gave it tools. Put a camera in her hands and the frame is already there. Give her a stone or a copper plate and she pulls a print from it that looks like it always existed.
